Organic Cells (2D Animation with Pyro)

Free

Hello everyone.

In this tutorial was requested by some of my followers and Patrons. I posted these studies on Instagram while I was exploring some possibilities of pyro simulations. Really enjoy the organic look of these studies, so I decided to post and share them with the community. Now let’s explore how I made this and how easy it is to achieve this type of 2D animation.

Hope you enjoy!

Liquid Stick to Surface Trick

Free

Hi everyone!

In this tutorial, we will explore a nice little trick to optimize a fluid simulation along the surface of an object.

As you know, fluid simulations can be slow and heavy to process, so any little strategy we can optimize will boost the speed and quality of the visual effect.

Hope to see you around there and let’s jump into the tutorial.

Melting Goo (Viscosity Fluid sim)

Free

Hi everyone!

So in the new Houdini 19.5 we can play with fluid simulation on SOP level. That’s pretty awesome because we can apply knowledge from vellum and pyro to fluids. So now, making rivers, collisions, and mixing different fluids is much easier with just a few nodes.

In this tutorial, we will start with the basics, transform a sphere into a liquid with different viscosity, and let it splash and melt as ice cream.

Hope you enjoy this one, and let’s have some fun!

Nebula Part 1

Free

Hi everyone!

Many of you were asking for a detailed tutorial about my nebula artworks. I’ve been preparing this, and we will cover how to do nebulas in Houdini, and of course, keep it simple and easy to learn for everyone, from beginner to advanced users.

We will divide this into three tutorials. In the first part, create an abstract nebula with simple vop nodes. In the second part, we will learn how to add detail and custom forms to our nebulas, and in the third part, we will cover how to render them with redshift and how I do post-process in after effects.

As you may know, all my projects are available on Patreon, and this series of nebula tutorials will be added to my retrieve store, where you can see the tutorials with voiceovers and subtitles.

Hope you enjoy this series, let’s have some fun with volumes, particles, and a lot of noises!

Firebending (Volume Deform)

Free

Hi everyone!

Finally got some time to keep playing with the new pyro nodes of Houdini 19. As a fan of Avatar series, we are going to create some firebending!

With a quick setup, we will explore new things within the volume nodes like adding noises, quickly creating a setup to render in mantra, and doing some firebending to create a tornado and then a little spiral fire simulation.

Hope you enjoy this one and have fun firebending!

Fire Power Up and Shockwave

Free

Houdini 19 is out, and I’ve been exploring the new pyro effects and the systems already created from shelf tools.

It is so cool that you can create something complex with just a few clicks and tweaks.

In this tutorial, we will create a complex magic fire aura and power up, as you see in hero movies. In the end, we will see how you can render these effects with redshift. The main focus of this tutorial is to show you how to explore and edit systems from the shelf tools, learn with them, adapt and create something suitable for your project. This workflow can save you a ton of time, especially when you are in the concept phase.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial!

Cloth Wave

Free

Hi everyone!

The other day I was scrolling on Instagram looking at other artists’ works and saw an image from the new windows 11. I looked for the trailer to see that cloth image in motion and damn that was beautiful. So I decided to try and create something similar with a simple houdini system.

Hope you enjoy this one.

Vortex Smoke Portal

Free

Hi everyone!

In this tutorial, I want to show you a workflow that I use a lot of times. We have reached a significant amount of tutorials and projects, and I want to show you why I explore that many random topics and why it is helpful to download the projects.

We will build a complex scene by combining the knowledge we got from 2 different tutorials.

I’m going to show how to do it step by step, and you will see you can quickly create a complex VFX in Houdini by using previous projects.

One of the things I most love about Houdini is the reuse of complex systems that we have built-in previous projects.

I hope you enjoy this new tutorial and this workflow, and I hope it will help in future works!
