Hi everyone!

Here is the second part of our Beam Skill Effect! In the first part, we covered the beam effect, on this one we will see how to create the cast animation. We will create different layers of effects by just tweaking some parameters and getting different results. This effect is really cool and you will love to explore and play with it because with the same system you can create other skills like for example portals. it is a really cool effect and it is so simple to create and fun to explore!

Hope you enjoy this one!

Beam VFX Part 1

Tutorial

To view this content, you must be a member of Doxia's Patreon at $5 or more

Hi everyone!

As you requested, here is an advanced particle tutorial divided into 3 parts. We will understand how to use different topics that we covered in the past into a skill effect visual effect, in this case, a Beam Skill like a Kamehameha. In this first part, we will see how to create the beam effect with simple systems and with the power of point vops, in the second one we will learn how to create the cast animation, this one will be super cool because the same system can be used to create portals and other cool effects and in the third and last part we will explore a few more tricks with particles to create the anticipation and how to render particles with redshift.

Hope you enjoy these tutorials and understand a little bit more about how to use multiple systems to create a complex visual effect.

Generative Soft Voronoi

Tutorial

Hi everyone!

For this week’s tutorial, we got a tie on your votes. The themes particle and geometry deformation got the same vote number, so I had to think of an interesting and funny way to have particles deforming a geometry. I came up with this idea for generative art, where we have particles controlling the Voronoi and edit our geometry pieces to look more into soft bodies. In the end, it looks like a generative soft body animation without soft bodies.

Hope you enjoy!

Hi everyone!

I was watching some videos about Houdini and got this idea of creating a spider web without any vex and with only two nodes. So I had to try it! I liked the result so much that I decided to record this tutorial to share this simple system.

Hope you enjoy this one!

Emit Multiple Softbodies

Tutorial

Hi everyone!

I was studying the simulation’s speed of multiple soft bodies with vellum, so I decided to record this quick tutorial in case you want to try it out too. I was really surprised by its speed and accuracy, even on my medium computer I was able to run a 30-sec simulation really fast.

Hope you enjoy!

On this first one, we are going to understand how we can create this smooth simulation and render it with redshift. On the next one, we are going to add custom velocity and mix colors.
