Cloth Wave

Tutorial

Hi everyone!

The other day I was scrolling on Instagram looking at other artists’ works and saw an image from the new windows 11. I looked for the trailer to see that cloth image in motion and damn that was beautiful. So I decided to try and create something similar with a simple houdini system.

Hope you enjoy this one.

POP Neural

Tutorial

Hi everyone!

In this tutorial, we are going to create an abstract neural network with a simple node system!

As you know, I always try to create complex systems in the easiest way possible to show you that Houdini is easy and for you to feel more comfortable with this fantastic software.

Hope you enjoy this Houdini and Redshift tutorial, and let’s get neural!

In this tutorial, we are going to create a cool fluid simulation with just particles! We are going to fill a volume or an object and then make them drop as melted gold!

Hope you enjoy this tutorial!

Vortex Smoke Portal

Tutorial

Hi everyone!

In this tutorial, I want to show you a workflow that I use a lot of times. We have reached a significant amount of tutorials and projects, and I want to show you why I explore that many random topics and why it is helpful to download the projects.

We will build a complex scene by combining the knowledge we got from 2 different tutorials.

I’m going to show how to do it step by step, and you will see you can quickly create a complex VFX in Houdini by using previous projects.

One of the things I most love about Houdini is the reuse of complex systems that we have built-in previous projects.

I hope you enjoy this new tutorial and this workflow, and I hope it will help in future works!

Vellum Ball Pop with Jelly

Tutorial

Hi everyone!

In this tutorial, we will revisit what we have learned from the previous one.

We will build the vellum solver from scratch once again and mix different types of vellum like cloth and jelly, and this time, we will make the cloth tear.

I’ve decided to do a tutorial covering this again with a different effect because this is an excellent way to learn a new skill, repeat, and try new things.

I hope you enjoy this new tutorial and feel more comfortable with vellum.

Vellum Shoot Jelly Balls

Tutorial

To view this content, you must be a member of Doxia's Patreon at $5 or more

Hi everyone!
In this tutorial, we will learn to build a Vellum solver from scratch. By learning how to do it, you will see how easy it is, and it will open so many possibilities to do complex systems that would be more difficult to do before. It will allow us to add different vellum types like cloth mixed with grains, create constraints, update them during the simulation, and make different types of vellum interact between them.

Trust me, creating this vellum system from scratch will improve your workflow and open many possibilities to develop complex and more advanced vellum animations.
Hope you enjoy this tutorial.

Vellum Sticky Gum

Tutorial

Hi everyone!

In this tutorial, we will keep exploring vellum grains! We will explore a little bit further the glue constraints, and we will add and update other constraints during the simulation because, so far, we have studied only using constraints before the vellum solver. Now we will see how to create and update them during the simulation. It will be cool.

In the end, we will learn to break those constraints with custom attributes.

I hope you enjoy this one!

Vellum Jelly

Tutorial

Hi everyone!

It’s time to have some fun with Vellum Grains! We will start with a simple setup to show you how to simulate a jelly object without a complex system! It is quick, simples, and so easy!

I hope you enjoy this one!

Abstract Flower

Tutorial

To view this content, you must be a member of Doxia's Patreon at $5 or more

Hi everyone!

In this tutorial, I will show you how to animate your geometry and convert it to vellum and let it simulate as cloth but follow the original animation.

In the second part, I want to take things to another level and show you how to create something more advanced.  I’m going to explain the concept behind “for each loop,” and I will explain in a way that everyone will understand how simple this is, even if you don’t have any knowledge of programming.

After this, we will create an abstract flower combining these two topics into one cool advanced animation.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial!

Vellum Soft Pin

Tutorial

Hi everyone!

In this tutorial, we are going to learn how to soft pin vellum geometry. I am going to be honest with you. I do not know how to call this technique exactly. I saw a work exploring this effect on social media, and I decided to give it a shot with Vellum. It is like a soft body is deforming and going back to its original position.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial and have fun playing with this vellum constraint!
